Player Stats
Every player’s season, at a glance.
The player page has a new Stats section with season tiles, a percentile radar, a season report card graded A to F, and league ranks. Each player is compared by position with the top 20 leagues or with their own league.

Search your save in plain words.
Find players, staff, clubs, nations, competitions and stadiums by name, or type a sentence like “young left footed winger with good dribbling” and FMRTE turns it into filters you can see, remove or open in Advanced Search.

- Works offline, with no AI. Sentences work in 10 languages.

Team Selection

Team Selection is rebuilt for 27. See a club’s current tactic and XI next to FMRTE’s suggested XI, with role ratings in and out of possession. The new formation editor lets you drag positions to build your own.
- Formations are saved in FMRTE. Your tactic in Football Manager doesn’t change.
Edits & undo
See what you changed and undo it.
Every field you edit is outlined, then turns green once saved. The edit history lists this session’s changes, from pages, presets and mass edits. You can undo a supported change, or a whole batch.
- Unsaved tabs show *, and FMRTE asks before you lose edits.
- Undo checks the game’s current value first. The history covers the current session.
Assistant & automation
Ask your save a question.
Ask about players, clubs, contracts or finances in plain words, and get answers and tables from your own game. You can jump straight to the players it finds, and edits it suggests wait for your OK.
You can also ask for a scouting report every week, or approve a preset to run on a schedule.
- Schedules follow the in-game calendar, while FMRTE is open with your save.
- Use your own AI provider key or a local model (Ollama, LM Studio). Your save data goes to the provider you pick.
More editing control

Add or remove a player’s work permits, change a conditional permit’s renewal review date or make it permanent, and clear a refusal. You can also give, change or take away the promises a player was made, set a competition’s squad size and homegrown limits, and save a Mass Edit as a reusable preset.

Is FMRTE free? Do I need an account?
Free to scout, and no account needed. Download it, load your save, and browse and search everything for as long as you like. You only sign in when you buy, and you only need a licence or the subscription to save changes.
Will it work with my game and my computer?
FMRTE 27 is for Football Manager 27. It runs next to the game on Windows, on macOS, and on Linux and Steam Deck in desktop mode. Playing an older Football Manager? There’s an FMRTE edition for every FM year back to FM12. Choose your edition.
Does it work on my Mac or Steam Deck?
Yes. FMRTE 27 runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, with no system changes needed. On Mac, FMRTE 26 and older (back to FMRTE 20) need System Integrity Protection (SIP) turned off, a one-time change in Recovery mode. Read the guide before you buy.
On Steam Deck, switch to desktop mode and run the Linux download.
Is it safe? Will it break my save?
FMRTE 27 outlines every change and keeps an edit history with undo for your session. Saving with no edits writes nothing, and positions and ownership now save only what you changed. Keep a backup of saves you care about. Try it free first, and report anything odd on the forum.
One shortcut has changed. Ctrl + F (⌘ F on Mac) now opens Quick search, and Advanced Search has moved to Ctrl + Shift + F.
Will my FMRTE 26 licence work with FM27?
No. FMRTE 26 works with Football Manager 26 only. For FM27 you need FMRTE 27, or the subscription.
What’s the difference between a licence and the subscription?
A licence is a one-time payment for one FMRTE edition, yours to keep with updates for that edition. It works on 3 computers and comes with the pre-game editor files. While it is active, the subscription gives you every FMRTE edition from 12 to 27, plus FMKE, the separate 3D Kit Editor for FM20 to FM24 on Windows.
When your subscription ends, you can no longer activate FMRTE with it. To keep editing, renew it or buy a single licence for your edition.
Does the Assistant need an AI key?
Only if you use it. The Assistant is off by default. To use it, turn it on in Settings, under AI Assistant, and add your own key from an AI provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini, or run a local model with Ollama or LM Studio. Your save data goes to the provider you pick. Suggested edits need a separate setting, and for now it mostly answers in English. Everything else in FMRTE works without it.
Can I get a refund?
Our refund policy is explained in our EULA. Before you buy, download FMRTE for free and check that it works with your game and your computer, since scouting doesn’t need a licence. If something goes wrong after you buy, contact support from your Client Area.
